Lark's Bike Blanket beginnings

Thank you so much for visiting my page, Lark's Bike Blankets!
My name is Todd and I am the creator of Lark's Bike Blankets.   I live and work in Victoria, B.C. as a paramedic.  I'm also a dad to two little girls.  One of my favourite things to do with my kids is take them out on my bike.  You can find us biking around our community all year long, in a range of weather and it's always the best part of my day.

Biking in ideal summer conditions was great, but even on some of those west coast summer mornings it can still get quite chilly, especially for our little ones.  Spring, fall and winter weather conditions can also present their own challenges for those who want to be outside moving.

When I first started biking with my kids, my kids kept getting cold. Searching for a solution, I first tried using small blankets, but they just fell off the bike and didn't fit. Then I tried using rain coats but they were too cold. Next I tried using a bike trailer but the kids hated it and I didn't enjoy biking as much because I couldn't talk to my kids during the ride.  Lastly, I sought out a reasonably priced blanket that was waterproof, windproof, fleece lined and fit perfectly on to my kids' bike seats, but I couldn't find one! That's when I realized that I would have to make it myself.  I bought a sewing machine, taught myself how to sew and started making Lark's Bike Blankets!  I've made them for my girls and I've shared them with friends and everyone loves them, especially my kids.  We've been enjoying them for years and I figured if my family and friends love them so much, maybe yours will too.

I welcome your support and feedback.  Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments as I really want your family to get as much use out these blankets as mine have.

Happy year round biking!
